About the Food Goob

20121118-7112-001I’m often called a goob when I start to talk about food. And perhaps I am.

My original purposes in starting a food blog were to make it easier to share recipes and to motivate myself to experiment more and cook more often. Since then, it has become a great reference for recipes I’ve already tried, especially considering that I’m one of those people who feels more inclined to try a recipe when I can see a photo of the final product. And since I’m one of those people who doesn’t plan meals before I go to the grocery store. I know you’re not supposed to shop hungry, but I’ve found that some of my most creative meals come from wandering the grocery store when I’m slightly hungry (not ravenously hungry, though) and getting inspiration from ingredients that look appealing.

These days, I also enjoy documenting food finds, local places to eat, food tourism, and travel in general. I love to travel and I’ve come to realize that one of my favorite parts of traveling is getting to try regional foods and drinks (that, and taking tons of photos). If you’d like to recommend a food, restaurant, bakery, or anything else to try, feel free to let me know at thefoodgoob@gmail.com.

I also have a fantastic husband who also has a passion for blogging. If you’re interested in technology tips and introspective musings of an aerospace engineer, check out his blog: http://www.corwinolson.com/

And if you’re still in a browsing mood and enjoy punny greeting cards and elegant, minimal stationery, check out my art store (did I mention I love art, too?): artbylinds.etsy.com
